Paycheck Check
Know your paycheck is right.
Paycheck Check keeps track of the hours you work and works out what you should be paid for them, overtime included, so that when your pay stub arrives you have something to hold it up against. Most hours apps stop at hours times rate, but hourly pay is rarely that simple, and since overtime is where paychecks most often come up short, that's where this one starts.
Free, and it stays free
The free version isn't a trial in disguise. You can use it for as long as you like without ever starting one, and it covers what most people need from week to week:
- one job, with unlimited clock-ins and manual entries;
- several entries in a day, for split shifts and unpaid gaps;
- weekly totals with federal overtime, time and a half after 40 hours;
- no ads, and no pop-up after every entry.
Premium
Premium is for pay that's more complicated than forty hours and time and a half.
- State overtime rules. Daily overtime, double time and seventh-day rules for California, Alaska and Colorado, each cited to the law, with Nevada included and marked as not fully verified. Every value can be edited, and you can set up your own rule for anywhere else.
- Differentials and holidays. Night and weekend differentials, and Sunday and holiday rates.
- The paycheck check. Type in what your pay stub says and see where any difference comes from, line by line.
- More than one job, each with its own rules.
- Timesheets as CSV or PDF, with the pay math on every line.
- Shift reminders, including a "still clocked in?" check for the shift you forgot to end.
- A Home Screen widget with your hours and pay, and a live shift timer on the Lock Screen while you're clocked in.
Pricing
You should know the price before you download anything, so here it is. These are the prices we plan to launch at, in US dollars; the App Store shows the final price in your own currency before you buy, and that's the one that counts.

The app mentions upgrading at most once a session and never right after you've logged time, and it asks for a review only once, after you've logged time in five different weeks.
Your data
There's no account to create. Your hours, pay, jobs and notes are stored on your iPhone and included in your iPhone's own backup, and they're never sent to us; the only thing that leaves the phone is the record of a purchase, which Apple and our subscription provider need in order to unlock Premium. A note on accuracy
Paycheck Check is a calculator, not legal or tax advice. Every total is an estimate made from what you enter and the rules you choose, and the app can't know your employer's policies or a union contract, so check the result against your pay stub, and if something looks wrong, confirm it with your employer, your state labor office or a qualified professional before acting on it.
